Tomb of Alexandrovo in 100 National Tourist Sites of Bulgaria

The Tourist Information Centre in Haskovo hosted the official ceremony of handing over the certificate of the Tomb of Alexandrovo and Museum Center "Thracian Art in the Eastern Rhodopes" for being part of the 100 National Tourist Sites of Bulgaria. Executive Secretary of the Bulgarian Tourist Union (BTA) Mr. Ventsislav Udev awarded the certificate to Mayor of Haskovo.

A relief of the Tomb of Alexandrovo’s discoverer - the famous archaeologist Dr. Georgi Kitov (1943-2008), was officially inaugurated today in the Museum Center "Thracian Art in the Eastern Rhodopes" near the village of Alexandrovo, Haskovo Municipality.

A ceremony held today opened the newly built Museum Center "Thracian Art in the Eastern Rhodopes" near the village of Alexandro, Haskovo Municipality. The huge complex was inaugurated personally by Their Imperial Highnesses Prince and Princess Akishino (Noriko, Fumihito Akishinomiya) and President of Bulgaria Mr. Georgi Parvanov. The high-profile guests included also His Excellency Ambassador of Japan to Bulgaria Tsuneharu Takeda, His Excellency Bulgaria's Ambassador to Japan Blagovest Sendov, Minister of Culture Professor Stefan Danailov, Professor Richard Tempest from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA) and many other officials.
